Google Ads AI for Small Business: Stop Wasting Budget

Google Ads AI for small business: catch wasted spend, fix conversion tracking, and get plain-English answers to what's working — without hiring an agency.

NotFair Team|

If you're running your own Google Ads on a $1K-$10K monthly budget, you already know the bind: you can't justify $2K/month for an agency, the Google Ads UI assumes you have a media-buying degree, and Smart Bidding eats anything you don't actively understand. Google Ads AI through Claude is the missing layer. Plain English in, account-specific answers out.

We built NotFair for exactly this audience. It's a hosted MCP server — meaning there's nothing to install on your computer beyond Claude itself, no developer tokens to apply for, no API quota to manage. Sign in with the Google account that runs your ads, and Claude can see your account.

Try it before you connect your account

Skeptical? Start at notfair.co/connect with the demo mode. We loaded a real anonymized small-business account so you can ask Claude things like "where am I wasting money" and "what's my best campaign" before granting access to your own data. If the demo is useful, the OAuth flow takes another two minutes.

The five things every small business should ask Claude first

  • Wasted spend"Find every search term that has spent more than $50 in the last 60 days with zero conversions." The list is usually longer than you'd guess.
  • Conversion tracking health"Audit my conversion tracking. Are all my conversion actions firing? Any duplicates?" Most small businesses we see have at least one broken conversion.
  • Quality Score"Show me my keywords with quality score under 5 sorted by spend." Below-5 keywords cost you 2-4x more per click than they should.
  • Smart Bidding sanity check"Is my bidding strategy actually getting me conversions, or is it spending budget without delivering?" Claude reads the conversion lag honestly.
  • Geographic waste"Am I getting clicks from cities I don't serve?" Plumbers running national campaigns is a real problem we see often.

Plain-English explanations, not jargon

You: I spent $1,800 last month and got 9 leads. Is that good or bad?

Claude: At $200 per lead, you're below your cost target if your average customer is worth more than $600 lifetime. But three of those leads came from one keyword ("emergency dishwasher repair near me") that costs $0.40 per click and converts at 12%. The other six leads cost you $1,750 collectively. The fix: pause six keywords that drove zero or low-quality traffic, and double the budget on the one that's working.

What about Performance Max?

PMax is the campaign type Google pushes hardest and the one most small businesses get burned by. Claude can audit your PMax campaign, tell you which asset groups are pulling weight, identify whether your conversions are coming from genuinely new customers or from existing brand searches Google is taking credit for, and recommend whether to keep it or move budget to a search campaign. We've seen this single audit save accounts $500+/month.

No developer skills, with approval before changes

If you can install Claude Desktop, you can use NotFair. Open notfair.co/connect, sign in with Google, pick your Ads account, click "add to Claude." Done. Writes default to require approval — Claude can recommend pausing a keyword, but the actual click happens after you say yes. You stay in control, the AI does the analysis.

Your first weekly routine

  • Monday"How did last week go? Any campaigns I should worry about?" Claude reviews spend, conversions, and any flagged anomalies.
  • Wednesday"Find new wasted-spend search terms from this week and add them as negatives." Approve the list, Claude applies them.
  • Friday"What's my Quality Score doing? Anything dropping?" Catch issues before they snowball.
  • Monthly"Audit my conversion tracking and PMax setup. Anything broken or misconfigured?" Long-running issues get caught early.

FAQ

Common questions about Model Context Protocol.

Do I need a Google Ads developer token?

No. NotFair handles the developer token for you. You only complete a normal Google OAuth flow with the account that runs your ads.

Can I try it without connecting my account?

Yes. The demo at notfair.co/connect loads an anonymized small-business account so you can prompt Claude before granting access to your own data.

Will Claude actually change things in my account?

Only if you grant write access and approve each change. Read-only is the safer default for small business owners; you can graduate to write actions once you've built trust.

What if I'm running both Search and Performance Max?

Claude audits both. PMax is where small businesses lose the most money to misconfiguration, so we'd recommend an explicit "audit my PMax campaign and tell me if it's actually working" prompt early on.

Is my data safe?

OAuth scopes are limited to Google Ads only — NotFair cannot access Gmail, Drive, or Analytics. The connection is yours; you can revoke it from your Google account at any time.
